A LIDAR system was developed for installation in a Transall aircraft of the Bundeswehr and used in the framework of the BMFT ozone research programme. Important elements of the aerosol LIDAR system ALEX, developed at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, were integrated into the system. New developments comprised the extension of the wavelength spectrum into the UV region both on the transmitter and the receiver side. The mechanical integration into the Transall and the installation of the power supply system were carried out by the Aerodata company.
