Ozone profiles were measured at the Ny Alesund (79 N, 12 E) station in Spitsbergen between June 27 and August 1, 1989, and between March 16 and April 7, 1990 in collaboration with the Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven, using ECC sondes. Mean ozone profiles agreed well with other arctic soundings. In the stratosphere, however, ozone concentrations showed remarkable day-to-day variations.
