The important goal of reducing CO_2 emissions requires higher efficiency and longer life of industrial combustion processes, e.g. by monitoring of the combustion stoichiometry and by efficient control of combustion parameters like air supply. The investigation focused on the development and industrial-scale testing of diode laser spectrometers for simultaneous in situ detection of the minority species CO and of O_2 and H_2O.
