This report describes the ecological situation of the ''Wesermarch''-county in Lower Saxony/Germany. It analyses the pressure and impacts on soil, water, air, flora/fauna and landscape. The analysis reflects also the causes of the pressure on the environment, i.e. landuses like agriculture, industry, development etc. The actual condition of the affected parts of the environment is described quantitatively by specific indicators based on a new system of evaluation; This system can be characterized as area adapted and regionally oriented i.e. it takes into consideration regional/local landuses and typical characteristics of the regional environment.
