In the frame of the Lindenberger Aerosol-Charakterisierungs-Experiment (LACE), the Meteorological Institute of the University of Munich operated a sun photometer and a mobile lidar. The photometer was equipped with 10 channels between 372 and 1009 nm wavelengths. Several independent sets of data, characterizing aerosol properties and components of the radiation field, gained from ground-based, airborne and satellite platforms and measured in-situ or from remote sensing techniques, were used to obtain a comprehensive picture of a continental atmosphere.
