In order to develop realistic estimation methods for total suspended sediment yield, different models have been established and tested using data of runoff measurements from two catchment areas. Different regression statements gave no satisfactory results. Improved estimation functions could be derived taking into account the often observed decrease of suspended material content during rainfalls.
