Seismic surface-waves can be used to explore the structure of the near-surface underground of waste sites and waste deposits. They are helpful to determine the lateral extent of waste sites and the construction of a macro model of the area surrounding waste sites and waste deposits. In addition, seismic surface-waves can be recorded during a refraction seismic survey without adding much field-effort. If possible, the interpretation should be carried out in connection with the refraction seismic interpretation. Seismic surface-waves are very sensitive to the distribution of shear-wave velocities. Thus, the results are a valuable supplement in the frame of refraction seismic interpretation. For the interpretation of surface-wave signals, a di...
