In the context of a preliminary site selection procedure and by means of initial drilling activities, two locations have been identified to be suitable for subsequent work in search of geologic sites that may serve as natural analoga for planned experiments. The two sites are Ruprechtov in the Czech Republic and Heselbach/Oberpfalz in Germany. At the Ruprechtov site, the project activities performed to date with two further core samples are: in-depth characterization of geological, mineralogical, geochemical and hydrochemical conditions, as well as basic interpretation of the ground water flow and transport conditions.
