Abschaetzung des einwohnerbezogenen Naehrstoffaustrags aus Regenentlastungen im Einzugsgebiet des Bodensees Studie

The present work summarises and evaluates the published data for nutrient discharge from rainwater by-pass canals, and includes data from the author's own measurement programs. The aim of the study is to develop a simple procedure for calculating nutrient discharge from rainwater by-pass canals as a function of population, and taking the technical standard of waste water treatment into consideration. The procedure exploits new measurement data on sewage networks taken after phosphor was eliminated from washing products in 1990. The proposed procedure may be adopted assuming that sewage treatment remains efficient following rainfall, and that the existing rainwater by-pass is designed according to state-of-the-art technology. The accuracy of the approximation is estimated to be better than #+-#30% of annual load of discharge.
