Der Kenntnisstand ueber den unangelagerten Anteil, der kurzlebigen Radon-und der Thoronfolgeprodukte, ueber die in Wohnhaeusern anzutreffenden Thoronkonzentrationen und deren Quelle und ueber die Groessenverteilung des unangelagerten Anteils der kurzlebigen Radonfolgeprodukte wurde erweitert. Mit den Ergebnissen wird eine verbesserte Berechnung der Dosiskonversionsfaktoren, die dann in die Abschaetzung der Strahlenexposition der Bevoelkerung durch die Radon- und Thoronzerfallsprodukte fuehrt, moeglich. Zusaetzlich kann die Einsicht in die Mechanismen, die zum physikalischen Verhalten der radioaktiven Edelgase und ihrer Folgeprodukte fuehrt, vertieft werden.
