Precautions to protect receiving water against pollution by run off urban areas during rainfall first of all refer to new constructions. In this case it was necessary to find concepts for areas which were already built on. Therefore an existing drainage system in an urban area had been modified. Therefore are varions of different processes had been used. A sanitation method with realistic cost and engineering solutions had been developped. The project was structured into three different phases. Phase 1: Analysis of the current hydraulic and pollution level of the Beckedorfer Beeke and the development of a sanitation method using the collected data. Phase 2: Realisation of the chosen sanitation method. Phase 3: Analysis of the new pollution and hydraulic level after the sanitation and to quantify the success of the sanitation.
