The velocity of the dissolution processes of the salts of interest depends on the transport velocity in the solution. It is at present not possible to give a detailed description of the selective dissolution of different salts from a heterogenous salt system, including the various changes of the surface properties. In mines filled with brine solutions, the natural convection is a decisive parameter influencing the mass transfer. The study determines kinetics parameters for cracked, porous media by means of experiments and numerical simulation, and verification is done by comparison with mineral specimens tests in existing mines filled with appropriate solutions.
