Ermittlung der Anfall- und Verwertungsmengen von Kunststoffabfaellen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und Abschaetzung des Recycling-Potentials bisher nicht verwerteter Kunststoffabfaelle

The performance of the R+D project was prompted by the realization that insufficient information is available on the generation, recovery and final disposal of plastic waste in the sectors of plastics manufacture, plastics processing into semi-finished and finished products, and post-use. The aim of the study was to compile data on the amounts of waste generated, recycled and disposed of, as well as on recycling potentials. Taking the regulatory framework and current technical possibilities for plastics waste recycling into account, the following sectors were examined: plastics production and processing, commercial and private end users. In addition, a forecast was made of the medium-term trend in the amounts of plastics waste generated, recycled and disposed of, as well as in recycling potentials.
