The goal of this research project was the development of new materials and basic structures for the detection of gases, ions and solvent vapors. One major topic (TUB) was the development and optimization of sensitive layers based on organically modified silicates for the measurement of SO_2, CO_2 and NH_3. Capacitive chemosensors were developed for the selective measurement of the gases mentioned above and for the measurement of humidity. FEM analysis was used to analyze the behavior of the sensor.
