State of technology: today solid-state lasers are in use for precise cuttings. It is possible to cut a lot of materials: nearly all metals, several ceramics, rubber, and some synthetics. There are available pulse powers up to 25 kW with an average power from 100 W to 500 W. Aims of the project: at the beginning of this project there existed the need to acquire knowledge about longtime-stability with the cutting by solid-state lasers (pulsed Nd:YAG-laser) for series production: possibility of reproduction, quality (control), economy, demands of praxis.
