Untersuchungen der Kohlenwasserstoffkonzentration im Dampfraum unterirdischer Lagertanks fuer Ottokraftstoff

The aim of this work was a thorough investigation of the hydrocarbon concentration of the gaseous atmosphere in an underground storage tank for gasoline with respect to explosion protection problems. Operational parameters like e.g. the draw out-rate of liquid as well as geometric characteristics like e.g. the diameter of the vent opening have been investigated with respect to their influence on the tank atmosphere. Concentration measurements inside the tank showed, that the draw out-rate of liquid fuel can not be used as the sole criterium for estimating the composition of the hydrocarbon/air-mixture; furthermore the inflow velocity of the venting air is decisive for the evaporation of gasoline and for the mixing of the vapours in the tank. Especially at low draw out-rates the formation of explosive atmosphere is possible in the tank. The relevant mixing processes have been studied qualitatively in a model tank with the help of Schlieren optical investigations. In order to estimate the effect of an ignition there has been performed an explosion test in a 20 m"3 tank. (orig.)Ziel dieser Arbeit war eine umfassende Untersuchung der Gasatmosphaere in unterirdischen Lagertanks fuer Ottokraftstoff im Hinblick auf Fragen des Explosionsschutzes. Der Einfluss von Betriebsparametern, insbesondere der Entnahmerate der Fluessigkeit, sowie der Einfluss geometrischer Groessen des Tanks, insbesondere des Durchmessers der Lufteintrittsoeffnung, auf die Kohlenwasserstoffkonzentration der Gesamtatmosphaere wurde untersucht. Die Konzentrationsmessungen im Tank ergaben, dass die Entnahmerate allein nicht als Kriterium fuer die Zusammensetzung des Dampf-/Luft-Gemisches herangezogen werden kann; vielmehr ist die Einstroemgeschwindigkeit der Luft die entscheidene Groesse, die die Nachverdampfung von Ottokraftstoff und die Durchmischung der Tankatmosphaere beeinflusst. Insbesondere bei kleinen Einstroemgeschwindigkeiten ist die Ausbildung explosionsfaehiger Atmosphaere im Tank moeglich. Die Mischungseffekte sind in schlierenoptischen Untersuchungen an einem Modelltank qualitativ beschrieben worden. Die Auswirkung einer Zuendung im Tank ist mittels eines Explosionsversuchs in einem 20 m"3-Tankabteil beurteilt worden.
