The upper and lower explosion limit, which depends on the vapour pressure of the liquid, is an important characteristic of inflammable liquids. The explosion limits are particularly important for processes under pressure. So far, the only data available are for atmospheric pressure. There are no experimental findings on other pressure ranges. This BMFT-funded project therefore comprises the development, construction and testing of an apparatus for measuring the upper and lower explosion limits.
