In the presented thesis a continuum material model and the algorithmen belonging to it are developed and described in order to simulate numerically the damage of fiber-reinforced composite within the context of the finite element method. In the model the development of macrostructural material damage is simulated, considering directly the damage growth at the microscale. The macroscopic material model is based on the local analysis of the damage growth in a representative volume element, which is statistical representative for the mesostructure.
