Based on improved thin film technologies for high-Tc superconductors (YBCO, Bi-2212) Josephson junctions and DC-SQUIDs were developed. A lot of different kinds of junctions (bicrystal, step-edge, SNS-like, biepitaxial etc.) were investigated for comparison. DC-SQUIDs and planar SQUID-gradiometers with these junctions show parameters to realize first applications in nondestructive evaluation or biomagnetism, respectively.
