Using gas-liquid two-phase flow theory, a modified mathematical model based on the computational fluid dynamics method SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equations) is introduced to investigate implosion phenomena in high pressure chambers. For a characteristic physical model, the numerical results are obtained and analyzed, without refering to experimental data. Extensive calculations to predict the highest pressure on the chamber wall are performed under varying conditions such as the implosion pressure, the dimensions of the test models and the height of the upper air layer.
