Within the project MAUS 'Materials Science Autonomous Experiments under Microgravity' the ninth mission with two payloads has been accomplished. The experiments 'Marangoni-Convection' and 'Glass-Fining' have been flown as Get Away Special payloads G-141 and G-145 onboard the STS-89 mission in January 1998. The tasks to be performed were the execution of the acceptance vibration test, the procurement and activation of the AgZn flight batteries as well as the mission support. Once more, the full operativeness and compatibility of the MAUS system with the requirements of the GAS program could be demonstrated.
