Der Hauptteil der Arbeit befasst sich mit dem Bottom to top Restructuring Modell, das zur Untersuchung der Dynamik in rotierenden Trommelmischern verwendet wurde. Neuentwicklungen sind ein zellularer Automat, der erstmals die Dissipation kinetischer Energie in realistischer Weise widerspiegelt, und das Kontinuitaetsmodell, dass den Einfluss eines institiellen Fluids auf den Fluss granularer Materie durch vertikale Rohre nachvollzieht.
