The objective of the present study is a consistent further development and improvement of a transition model, the original version of which was developed by Mavrantonakis. Test calculations have shown that the turbulent velocity profiles had not been fully developed in the previous version of the model. Therefore, two measures were taken to correct this inaccuracy: Introducing new damping functions for the Bradshaw constant and dissipation length permitted these parameters to reach their full values in the turbulent part of the boundary layer. The overshooting coefficients of friction in the turbulent part of the boundary layer determined as a result of this measure were reduced to normal values by introducing a factor for the Van Driest co...
