The aim of this research project was the development of efficient image reconstruction algorithms for a computed tomography with scattered light. With the transillumination of a tissue volume from different light source positions it is possible to obtain an integral information about the internal optical structure (absorption and scattering coefficients) of the volume. The application of mathematical reconstruction algorithms is then useful to recompute the spatial parameter distribution in the probe volume.
