An extended Navier-Stokes Method is presented permitting computation of internal flows containing screens. Screens are not considered geometrically, but they are represented by their influence on the flow conditions, i.e. pressure drop and turbulence alteration. Comparison of the numerical results with the experimental results of a model study shows the applicability of the numerical method on wide-angle diffuser flows. Experiment and numerical calculations were intended for attaining improved flow qualities in the wide-angle diffuser of the Transonic Windtunnel Goettingen.
