The low-Reynolds-number k-#epsilon# model proposed by Rodi and Mansour (1990) on the basis of direct numerical simulation (DNS data) was tested by application to developed-channel and boundary-layer flows at relatively low Reynolds numbers. The results are compared with DNS data and with predictions obtained with three other low-Re versions of the k-#epsilon# model. The Rodi-Mansour proposal had to be complemented by a function multiplying the destruction term of the #epsilon#-equation very near the wall (y"+ < 8). When a function based on the isotropic dissipation rate #epsilon# as defined by Hanjalic and Launder (1976) was used, the general agreement with the DNS data was fairly good, but #epsilon# very near the wall was underpred...
