Wall shear stress measurements were conducted in laminar and turbulent plate boundary layers using different methods including oil-film laser interferometry, hot film and wall pulse wire measuring techniques. Measurements were taken along a flat plate in a flow in a low-speed wind tunnel. Friction values were measured at different positions in the plate boundary layer under investigation, using different methods in each case. Developed was a new pulse wire anemometer in view of the application of different types of probes for velocity and wall shear stress measurement.
