This thesis describes the measurement of the structure function F_2 of the proton at high momentum transfer. The data were taken in 1992 with the H1 detector at the HERA electron proton collider (DESY, Hamburg). The electrons were accelerated to 26.7 GeV, the protons to 820 GeV which corresponds to a center of mass energy of almost 300 GeV. The integrated luminosity used for this analysis is 23.8 nb"-"1. The kinematic range is defined by Q"2 > 120 GeV"2 where the scattering angle of the electron is greater than 25 . The measured values of F_2 in three bins at Q"2 = 240 GeV"2 and two bins at Q"2 = 720 GeV"2 agree well with predictions from the DGLAP equations. (orig.)SIGLEAvailable from TIB Hannover...
