This joint project was dedicated to investigations into optical phase conjugation. Emphasis was placed on the development of new solutions to different practical laser technology and laser optics problems, e.g. aberration correction, lenseless, high-resolution beam forming and tracing, speckle suppression, and coherent beam concentration. The subproject under review investigates approaches and describes materials (BBO, Li_2B_4O_7, LiNbO_3) which allow one to apply the conventional phase conjugation techniques to photorefractive crystals in the ultraviolet spectral range.
