A set of coupled differential equations is derived to study the finite-#beta# effects on the ion-temperature-gradient driven (ITGD) modes for a collisionless plasma in a toroidal magnetic field. #beta# is assumed low enough to allow ignoring the compressional component of the perturbed magnetic field. The equations will be solved analytically in various limits.
