The test aimed to evaluate the feasibility of including grass/clover silage in addition to the liquid feed, and to observe possible effects on behaviour and evaluate if the silage could complement parts of the commercial liquid feed, without impairing the pigs’ growth. Silage can serve as addition to liquid feeding and benefit animal welfare by increase the pigs’ possibilities to perform foraging and exploration behaviours. To be able to lower the commercial feeding ration and replace it with silage, it is important that it has a good structure and that it is palatable. This increases silage consumption. This tool is applicable to pig farmers in northern Europe, using silage in their feed rations
