This thesis discusses work carried out on the examination of the magnetic and microwave properties of samples based on the ferromagnetic material, METGLAS 2605SC. Sputter deposited thin film samples were stacked together to produce arrays and their permittivity and permeability was measured over a frequency range of 8-12 GHz. Powdered METGLAS 2605SC was mixed with wax and moulded to form composite samples for similar testing over the frequency range 2-20 GHz. The fabrication of the samples was monitored at each stage, and the measurement techniques were shown to be precise and accurate.
