L'objectif de ce travail était d'évaluer l'impact physiologique d'une surexpression de la PEPC chez le maïs dans les contextes de la plante entière, du grain et de la feuille. S'agissant des grains, bien que la surexpression, en terme de protéine produite et d'activité enzymatique atteigne des niveaux élevés (8-10 fois), le remplissage lipidique et protéique de ces organes est peu modifié. L'impact physiologique d'une surexpression d'un gène de PEPC C4 dans le grain serait donc faible. S'agissant des feuilles, des expériences d'immunodétection et immunolocalisation nous ont permis de vérifier la présence de la protéine dans le mésophylle des plantes transgéniques.
