Morbid obesity , a major public health problem, requires a multidisciplinary therapeutic answer. Surgery is increasingly taking part of this answer. The objective of this study is to analyse the outcome of gastric banding (GB) and vertical calibrated gastroplasty (VCG) an weight loss and their influence on associated comorbidities for patients presenting morbid obesity. Methods : 332 women and 54 men with an average age of 41, were operated for morbid obesity. The average BMI was 48 5 (41.5 to 54.5) and the average excess of weight was 73.6 ( 53.2to 93.7).
