This thesis reports characterisation and modelisation on lead based relaxor ferroelectric single crystals to improve properties achievements for ultrasonic transducers applications. One method based on resonnant ultrasonic spectroscopy allowed to identify the entire piezoelastic tensor of a PZN-12PT. High frequency transducers requires to quantify the active material behaviour in its range of application. Electrical impedance measurement allowed to identify parameters (V1, k1 et E33) of five PZN-PT plates (about 500 um), single crystal properties are not stable, due to the scale effect and the microscopic structure.
