Exploring values-based co-innovation in ecosystems through system dynamic group modelling

By drawing on an ecosystem approach, this paper aims to bridge the gap between the dynamics of collaborative innovation processes and multiple future-orientated value(s). Our study indicates that the system dynamic group modelling process was well-suited to understanding the transition towards a circular, bio-based plastics ecosystem. Due to systemic innovation, the transition is rather time consuming and includes variety of actors. In other words, system dynamic ecosystem approach can serve as a mean to solve wicked problems stemming from the conflicting views of various stakeholders.
