Plantes antipaludiques du Vietnam (étude ethnopharmacologique et chimique)

Afin de découvrir de nouveaux antipaludiques, un inventaire des plantes utilisées en médecine traditionnelle dans le sud du Vietnam a été réalisé, et une sélection ethnopharmacologique a été effectuée. Des 55 échantillons récoltés, 220 extraits ont été obtenus et évalués pour leur activité sur P. falciparum et leur toxicité sur les cellules humaines. Leur criblage a permis de sélectionner 9 plantes fortement antiplasmodiques et peu ou pas cytotoxiques. L étude des alcaloïdes des Menispermaceae A. flava, F. tinctoria et C. fenestratum a révélé que les majoritaires ne pouvaient être seuls responsables de l activité et a permis d isoler des minoritaires, dont deux structures originales. L étude bioguidée d I. malayana a abouti à l isolement de composés actifs de structures complexes glycosylées indéterminées. Ces résultats rationnalisent l utilisation de ces plantes dans le traitement du paludisme et valident l approche ethnopharmacologique dans la recherche d antipaludiques.In order to discover new antimalarials, an inventory of the plants used in traditional medicine in the south of Vietnam has been done and an ethnopharmacological selection has been made. From 55 collected samples, 220 extracts have been obtained and evaluated for their activity on P. falciparum and their toxicity on human cells. Their screening has led to select 9 plant species with high antiplasmodial and low or non cytotoxic activities. Studying the alkaloids of the Menispermaceae A. flava, F. tinctoria et C. fenestratum, we have shown that the major alkaloids couldn t be only responsible for activity and we have isolated some minor alkaloids, which include two original structures. The bioguided study of I. malayana has led to the isolation of active compounds with undetermined glycosylated complex structures.
