Jades in East Asia During the 1 st Millenium AD

(in English): The Focus of this thesis lies on East Asia in the first half of the first millenium. The difference between true jades and pseudo-jades is explained as well as the physiological characteristics, source places and ancient techniques of jade-craft. Following chapter is focusing on regional history and the difference between advanced yet decaying Chinese Empire and the rest of the region. The societies on Korean peninsula and Japanese archipelago are far from centralized state. The cultural differences are to be seen in third chapter, since Chinese literature has already very long tradition. In Korea and Japan on the other hand the first written histories are being made during the course of first millenium. Last chapter follows another bit discrepancy between luxurious Chinese jade-ware and burial suits and simple magatama jewels in Japan and a Korea alike. There was discovered no connection between the chinese jade-working tradition and the rest of the region.(česky) Tato práce se zabývá nefrity na Dálném Východě v letech 0 - 500. Popisuje rozdíl mezi pravými nefrity (nefritem a jadeitem) a pseudonefrity. Sleduje jejich fyzikální vlastnosti, naleziště a původní způsob opracování. Dále se zabývá historií regionu. Ukazuje na rozdíl mezi vyspělou civilizací Číny, která v tomto období prožívá rozklad do té doby sjednocení říše, které vládla řada několika dynastií a zbytkem. Na Korejském poloostrově i na Japonských ostrovech teprve dochází ke vzniku státních zřízení a sjednocování menších státečků. Podobný rozdíl se ukazuje i v písemných pramenech - v Číně již existuje dlouhá tradice písemnictví, zatímco v Koreji a Japonsku vznikají první kroniky. Přítomnost nefritových předmětů ve hmotné kultuře, v oblasti Číny tak silná, se neprojevuje tak silně ve zbytku regionu. Hlavními typy jsou pohřební obleky v Číně, a zahnuté korále v Japonsku zvané magatama, jejichž varianty zdobily koruny panovníků Silly. Zdá se, že s odlišnými zdroji materiálu a různým tvaroslovím se dají nefrity v Koreji a Japonsku hodnotit jako nezávislé na Čínských.Institute of ArchaeologyÚstav pro archeologiiFaculty of ArtsFilozofická fakult
