This bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The aim of the first part is to create an annotated translation of two subchapters of the book Henning Scherf. Zwischen Macht und Moral - eine politische Biografie, which was written by a German journalist Volker Mauersberger and published by Edition Temmen in 2007 from German to Czech. The second part of this thesis consists of a translation analysis according to Christiane Nord, a description of the method and the aim of the translation, selected translation problems, their solutions and also translation shifts based on the typology according to Jiří Levý and Anton Popovič. Cílem první části je vytvořit český překlad dvou podkapitol knihy Henning Scherf. Zwischen Macht und Moral - eine politische Biografie, jejímž autorem je německý publicista Volker Mauersberger a jež byla vydána nakladatelstvím Edition Temmen roku 2007. Druhou částí práce je komentář k překladu, jenž obsahuje překladatelskou analýzu dle Christiane Nordové, popis metody a cíle překladu, vybraných překladatelských problémů, jejich řešení a také překladatelské posuny na základě typologie Jiřího Levého a Antona Popoviče.
