Thesis, which deals with selected problems of academic libraries OPACs in the internet environment, is divided into four main chapters. The first referred context of information seeking to information needs. Saturation of information needs is motivated by the search itself and choice of search engine. The second chapter brings the development of Online Public Access Catalogues in relation to technological and social trends. Chapter focuses on the functional characteristics of each generation of OPACs.
