This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issues of national stereotyping in context of the conflict that happened in the lands of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the years 1992-1995. It highlights the most common national stereotypes and myths in former Yugoslavia while focusing on presenting the triggering mechanisms and mobilizing agents which were the cause of their activation. The main intention of this thesis is to explore the influence of national stereotypes and myths on the outbreak and escalation of ethnic violence between the Serbs and the Bosnians.
