L implication de la génétique dans l hypertension essentielle a été démontrée par des études épidémiologiques portant sur des familles et des jumeaux. A l INSERM-U525, nous avons étudié plusieurs gènes candidats de l hypertension essentielle. Au cours de la thèse, des résultats sur 3 différents candidats - l angiotensinogen (AGT), l'aldostérone synthase (CYP11B2) et le récepteur couplé aux protéine kinase (GRK4) - complétés par des études fonctionnelles qui consistaient en des analyses de promoteurs par des gènes reporters, des cotransfections, des electrophoretic mobility shift assays, et des supershift assays, sont présentés.
