The general methodology of this thesis consists of using mathematics tools allowing the elaboration of a vectorial formalism which is applicable to electrical systems in the broad sense of the word.This formalism is enjoying the matricial calculation power and, at the same time, the geometric and graphical properties of the space vector theory that is generalized. So, it is particuliarly adapted to the study of polyphases systems. First of all, we characterize the static power converters regardless of their loads. To do that, vectorial spaces are associated to them along with characteristic families of vectors. Then, it is possible to define which kind of load the converter can control.
