The liturgical reforms of the second vatican council considered in the light of the preceding liturgical movement

This thesis is an historical examination of some aspects of the Liturgical Movement within the Roman Catholic Church. It argues that the movement started in France in the mid-nineteenth century with Dom Gueranger as its founder, and traces its history from that foundation until 1969.
