Background: Anorexia nervosa is (AN) an eating disorder characterised by the egosyntonic nature of symptoms, denial of illness and d ambivalence about treatment engagement. Thus, AN is a complex and serious psychiatric disorder that is associated with substantial chronicity, mortality and poor treatment outcomes. It Is poorly understood and the evidence-base for effective treatment remains sparse.
