Sustainable industrial activity requires that processes should use raw materials as efficiently as is economic and practical to preserve the resources as much as possible. The major source of inefficiency in the use of raw material in most chemical processes is in chemical reactors. This work focuses on developing various design options that allow the raw materials efficiency of chemical reactors to be improved by the simultaneous design of the catalyst and the reactor.
