Indian policy makers have long had an interest in the way men and women behave in business, and the ways they can help encourage employment; particularly self employment. The primary research for this PhD, undertaken in summers 1998 and 2001 in Mysore in the South Indian State of Karnataka was designed to investigate this subject.
