This thesis is an examination of urbanisation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and a further examination of urbanisation in Saudi Arabia; more specifically, the drivers, patterns and consequences of migration urbanisation are addressed. The case study examines the experiences of migration and urbanisation in Buraydah City in Saudi Arabia and focuses on three groups of migrants; namely, urban to urban migrants, villagers and Bedouin from desert areas in order to gain the perspectives of different types of migrants experiencing the same migration.
