Abstract Background: Myofascial trigger points (MTrPs) have been cited as a cause of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. There is a paucity of evidence in the lower limb and specifically the triceps surae for the prevalence of MTrPs and efficacy of targeted interventions.
