Add to ORKGMy dissertation concentrates on conflicts caused by the developing female consciousness of sexuality and sexual liberation in the face of Communist morality in Russian and Chinese women’s writing, with specific reference to the prose of Viktoriia Samoilovna Tokareva (1937- ) and Tie Ning (1957- ). The study examines the following questions: the relation between Russian-Soviet and contemporary Chinese literature; the influence of cultural difference on views of female subjectivity in the two writers; the treatment of the theme of love, family and sexuality and the context of changing gender paradigms in their works.EThOS - Electronic Theses Online ServiceGBUnited Kingdo
